What is UPSC for civil services Exam?

 With the inauguration of the Constitution of India in January 26, 1950, the
Federal Public Service Commission came to be known as the Union Public Service
Commission, and the Chairman and Members of the Federal Public Service
Commission became Chairman and Members of the Union Public Service Commission
by virtue of Clause (1) of Article 378 of the Constitution.

UPSC Civil Services is a national level screening examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of various posts and civil services under Government of India such as IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, etc. UPSC CSE is conducted in three stages .

  •  Preliminary examination
  •  Mains examination 
  •  Interview for final selection.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Your age must be between 21 and 32 years.

  • Candidates must have a Graduate degree from any University or equivalent qualification.

  • Those aspirants who have not completed the six attempts at Civil Services exam, but have not crossed upper age limit

UPSC Civil Services Exam Pattern 2019 for Mains and Interview

The Mains exam will consist of a written exam and interview. The written test will contain nine papers and questions asked in the exam will be conventional type questions. As per the exam pattern of UPSC Civil Services 2019, Paper A and B are qualifying in nature. Merit list of candidates will be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the seven compulsory papers and Interview. The exam pattern of UPSC Civil Services 2019 has been given below.
